Spent loads of time this week in hospices – luckily as part of my work rather than family life. I have met so many brave amazing patients and relatives in their 20’s – 80’s who have gone through such extraordinarily horrible times, experiencing loss of a wife/husband far too early in life. And yet they are the most positive about Wills and legacies. Then you get some care staff who refuse to talk about Wills or legacies “oooh you really can’t – not with patients and relatives”. But the patients and relatives I met are aching for help and support with getting their financial affairs in order. This week I have cried with emotion and frustration. Typical week. Next week I am with two sets of trustees – say no more because tears will be for the same reasons
