A great session at the IoF convention: The Great Legacy Debate. Fiona Campbell-White from Wilsons solicitors indicated that the number of contested wills might well fall due to the new legal aid rules: legal aid cannot now be used to contest a Will. The bad news was that she believes that lack of testamentary capacity cases will rocket due to the ageing population. I can’t wait for the day when solicitors are more like (Fiona and also Jonathan from Stone King) who help guide charities for the mutual benefit of all concerned. As the ageing population grows charities need to be really sensitive to families.
